Safe Deposit Boxes in 2072

Tonight I’m going to run a game based on the Jason Stratham movie The Bank Job. In the movie Stratham robs a local bank intending to steal millions in cash and jewels. Instead he discovers a cache of dirty secrets belonging to the town’s most powerful people – thrusting him into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

This is the first location-based job I’ve prepared for in a long time and I’ve forgotten how much effort it is. Besides the usual relationship map, I’ve got the bank map from Critical Locations, a random table of loot and the “boss fight” for tonight – a safe deposit box.

SAFE DEPOSIT BOX

The safe deposit box is protected by molded densiplast casing and a transponder and SIN activated maglock requiring both the owner and a bank employee to activate. For increased security the safe deposit box is keyed to it’s home vault and vault systems will alert if the box is removed or losses signal. The safe deposit box also contains an independent and encrypted matrix node for the storage of customer information and system logs.

IMPORTANT TESTS

Tests required to gain physical access:
Physically Defeating the Maglock:
1. Anti-tamper system (Hardware + Logic (anti-tamper system rating))
2. Removing the casing (Hardware + Logic (Maglock rating x 2, 1 Combat Turn))

Picking the Maglock:
1. Calibrating the electrical feed (Hardware + Logic (Lock Rating, 1 minute))
2. Defeating a key lock requires a Locksmith (Locksmith + Agility (variable, 1 Combat Turn) Extended Test)
Note:
If both tests are attempted by the same person apply a -2 dice pool modifier to both tests.

Forging an Authorized SIN
1. Creating a fake SIN (Forgery + Edit ((Rating x 32), 1 week))
2. Authorizing a fake SIN (Hacking + Edit (Rating of fake SIN x System, 1 hour) Extended Test.

Tests required to access the node
Forging the Passkeys
Requirements: Schematic of the passkey and a copy of its Firmware.
1. Forging a passkey (Forgery + Edit (4, 1 Day))
Notes: Good for 1 use only, the original passkey longer works and last access time is recorded.

Forging an Authorized SIN
1. Creating a fake SIN (Forgery + Edit ((Rating x 32), 1 week))
2. Authorizing a fake SIN (Hacking + Edit (Rating of fake SIN x System, 1 hour) Extended Test.

Hacking the Node
Requirement: The densiplast casing has been removed. Exposing the circuitry.
1. Hacking on the fly (Hacking + Exploit (target’s Firewall, Complex Action))
2. Probing the Target (Hacking + Exploit (target’s System + Firewall, 1 hour(VR), 1 Day (AR))
